Our goal in this class is to expand your clay education by elevating your ceramic pieces while keeping the vibe and atmosphere fun and inviting. This class is perfect for anyone who has had at least one beginner wheel-throwing pottery class, hand-building class, or some combination of the two and is interested in exploring new possibilities and forms.

Our beginner's pottery class is specially designed to teach you the basics of wheel throwing. We will cover proper posture, breathing techniques, motor functions, form, and - of course - how to make safe functional pieces (mugs, cups, bowls, plates, etc)! Specifically, you'll learn centering via coning up and down, opening the form, pulling the walls of the clay pot, trimming your pots (carving and finishing the bottoms), and finally glazing them (the top coat). This 4-week course will meet every Tuesday evening beginning August 5th from 6:30 pm - 9 pm, with the final class being held on August 26th. This 8-week class is a wild combination of wheel throwing and hand building for all levels! Our goal in this class is to give you the best possible clay education while keeping the vibe and atmosphere fun and inviting. Specifically, for wheel you'll learn centering via coning up and down, opening the form, pulling the walls of the clay pot, trimming your pots (carving and finishing the bottoms), and glazing them (the top coat). In the hand-building sessions, we will cover slabs, coils, attachments, and textures. Advanced students will be given room to explore and will be guided towards their goals. This 8-week course will meet every Saturday beginning July 12th from 10 am - 1 pm, with the final class being held on August 30th. First, I'm sure you're wondering, what are some examples of hybrid vessels? On a simplistic level, something like a chip-dip tray or a ring holder could be a hybrid vessel. On a more grandiose level a water fountain (desk size or larger), complex vase, sculpture, etc.

• Crash course on throwing (if you know how to throw - begin)

We will refresh our beginner skills (posture, breathing, form, and basic shapes) and then get more technical to refine and elevate your pottery! Our goal in this class is to give you the best possible clay education while keeping the vibe and atmosphere fun and inviting. This 7-week course will meet every Saturday beginning November 2nd from 2 - 5 pm with the final class being held on December 21st; there is no class on November 30th. There is usually one make-up session per person per class if you are sick or life gets in the way; since it is the holiday season we will allow up to 2 make-up classes per person for this session.
